Abstract: The present study aimed to introduce a novel method of cervical esophagogastric anastomosis, so-called 'modified one-piece mechanical anastomosis' (MOMA) in McKeown esophagogastrectomy and to compare its feasibility, efficacy and safety with those of 'conventionally double-layer hand-sewn anastomosis' (CDHA).
