Collaborative skills of prospective teachers in laboratory activities related to the concept of elasticity

Abstract: The collaborative is a skill needed in facing challenges and opportunities in the era of industrial revolution 4.0. Therefore, universities must prepare prospective graduates to have collaborative skills. The purpose of this study was to describe collaborative skills that are trained and developed through laboratory activities. This study used descriptive quantitative methods. The research sample amounted to 250 teacher candidates from several Islamic Universities in Indonesia. The sampling technique used rand… Show more

“…The collaborative ability can be seen in laboratory activities, especially when collecting data together. This can be seen from how compact they are in making decisions and their groups in work teams (Malik et al 2021). A person's creative thinking ability can be known and measured when e-Journal: http://doi.org/10.21009/1 carrying out an activity as a team, which measures how proficient a person is in finding new steps or new breakthroughs when collecting data, thus making data collection more flexible and efficient (Khoiri et al 2017).…”

“…This is in line with the indicators of students' mathematical logical intelligence which requires students to be able to determine the relationship between symbols and causal patterns in the problem-solving process. The next stage is collaboration, which is an interactive, constructive and knowledge-based process that involves many students in problem-solving activities to achieve the desired goals (Malik et al, 2021). Collaboration is closely related to the process of motivation, division of tasks, understanding group vision, targets, and self-evaluation (Santoso et al, 2021;Rahmawati et al, 2019).…”
