Cohort Profile: The Vukuzazi (‘Wake Up and Know Yourself’ in isiZulu) population science programme

Abstract: In 2000, the Africa Centre Demographic Information System (ACDIS), 1 a demographic surveillance platform, was established in the uMkhanyakude district of rural KwaZulu-Natal, one of the world's most intensely HIVaffected regions.
