“…Whether tibial artery PSVs can be used to predict postprocedure initial clinical success or serve as a marker of ongoing clinical success is unclear. Wakassa et al, 18 although demonstrating improvement in selected tibial artery PSVs after endovascular intervention, did not find that immediate (next day) improvement in tibial artery PSVs correlated with "good" or "bad" outcomes 3 years later, with a good result defined as a patient who had no pain and full healing of a wound or amputation site at 3 years. However, clinical outcomes at 3 years can be influenced, as noted before, by many factors other than hemodynamic improvement at 1 day.…”
