Initial neuro-ophthalmological manifestations in Churg–Strauss syndrome

In our patient, the association of preserved ERGs and markedly abnormal VEPs, together with the eye fundus examination and fluorescein angiography results, is highly suggestive of retrobulbar ON caused by acute anterior optic nerve ischaemia.…”

Subretinal Fibrovascular Proliferation in Retinal Arteritis with Multiple Aneurysmal Dilatations: A Case Report

This syndrome consists in a seg mentary vasculitis affecting small arteries, venules and cap illaries and is sometimes clinically indistinguishable from polyarteritis nodosa [4], Ocular involvement has been de scribed, including conjunctival infiltration, scleritis and se vere panuveitis [5,6], ischemic optic neuritis, retinal infarc tions and amaurosis fugax [7]. However, in our patient, a comprehensive systemic workup was noncontributory and the lack of eosinophilia, normal erythrocyte sedimentation rate, normal high-resolution lung CT scan and normal biop sy results led us to rule out this disorder.…”
