“…Invasive fungal sinusitis can mimic neoplasm when it erodes bone, especially in immunocompromised hosts, and scattered hyperdense foci on CBCT sometimes betray fungal concretions ( 19 ). Finally, a cholesteatoma of the maxillary sinus, which is rare but well documented, was contemplated because it also causes bone erosion and may appear as a soft-tissue mass ( 20 ).
