Abstract: We have characterized halide enrichment factors (EF) in aqueous extracts of size‐resolved marine aerosol particles collected from the northeastern Pacific Ocean at a coastal site (June through October, 1997–1999) and during two ship cruises (January and June, 2000). Our investigation focused on the chemistry of marine particles with diameters of 1.6–4.8 and 4.8–15 μm, which we define as “sea‐salt particulate matter” (SS PM).
