“…Our regression also showed that shorter sleep duration was independently associated with higher InterSept scores. These findings are in line with other studies in the literature, where sleep disturbances were linked to increased depressive symptoms and suicidality in patients with schizophrenia [50]. Suicidal behaviors were also reported to increase in patients with sleep disturbance and mental illness in general [51,52].…”

“…Trauma experiences were different between FESs and HCs, and play a particular role in the clinical symptoms of patients, the current study found sexual abuse, emotional and physical neglect correlated with some psychotic symptoms, and all results shown a positive correlation. These results consistent with previous research [40,41], and a network-based study implemented by Isvoranu et al also suggested that different types of traumatic experiences were related to positive and negative symptoms through general psychotic symptoms [42]. Previous studies reported that cognitive de cits of psychiatric patients who experienced CT are more obvious than those had no history of CT [43], and abnormal results related to CT had been found in both general cognition [44] and social cognition [45], this article also found sexual abuse was negatively associated with speed of processing and social cognition, but we didn't conduct a strati ed analysis of the two types of patients because of insu cient sample size.…”

“…It must be considered that children with abuse who are admitted to the intensive care units may present high mortality and morbidity with commonly required immediate critical care; among neglected and abused children mortality rates reached 9.86%, a frightening statistic [13]. Childhood trauma has been found to provide the origin for multiple expressions of psychopathology [14][15][16]. It has been registered that amongst an assembly of Palestinian children, it was observed that a large proportion, 43% of those participating, reported playing or visiting a nice place as earliest memories, and about one third (30%) of the traumatic events or accidents (30%) or miscellaneous events (27%) linked to the memories [17].…”

“…Childhood adversity, as observed through cases of abuse and neglect, exerts a powerful influence the intactness of neuropsychiatric health and well-being. For example, childhood physical abuse, and through concurrence accompanying trauma, depressive symptoms and sleep quality were associated markedly with the positive and negative symptoms of schizophrenia and general psychopathology [15]. Trauma/neglect during the infancy-child years, and in particular sexual abuse, has been found to be associated with sexual risk behaviors during later adolescent-adult life with connections to between sexual abuse and sex trade in the young adulthood period [19].…”
