ChemInform Abstract: PhI(OAc)₂/KI‐Mediated Reaction of Aryl Sulfinates with Alkenes, Alkynes, and α,β‐Unsaturated Carbonyl Compounds: Synthesis of Vinyl Sulfones and β‐Iodovinyl Sulfones.

Abstract

Title reaction proceeds under mild conditions for a wide range of terminal aromatic or aliphatic alkenes bearing electron‐donating or electron‐withdrawing substituents to give the corresponding vinyl sulfones, e.g. (III), (VII) or (IX), as E‐isomers in most cases [except for Z‐isomer (V) and isomeric mixture (XI)/(XII)].
