Abstract: On the Julia Alkenylation Reaction in Vitamin D Synthesis. Isolation of Four Geometrical Isomers of Vitamin D 4 .-Reinvestigation of the coupling of sulfone (II) with aldehyde (III) using the Julia alkenylation procedure indicates that vitamin D 4 (IV) and its geometric isomers (V)-(VII) are formed in a 75:10:10:5 ratio, respectively.
