ChemInform Abstract: Catalysis of the Specific Michael Addition: The Example of Acrylate Acceptors.

Abstract: Treatment of methyl vinyl ketone (IIa) or ethyl acrylate (IIb) with the amines (I) in the presence of iron trichloride gives exclusively the β‐amino carbonyl compounds (III), whereas similar reaction of acrolein only results in polymerization.
