“…The reduction of Ce(IV) produces excited Ce(III), which is deactivated by emitting light of 350 nm, yielding a weak CL signal. 2832 Quinine is a good fluorescent substance (Φ = 0.577), having an emission maximum at about 450 nm. 33 Excited Ce(III) transfers energy to the quinine, yielding excited quinine, which is responsible for the strong CL observed.…”

Exaggerated anticipatory anxiety is common in social anxiety disorder (SAD). Neuroimaging studies have revealed altered neural activity in response to social stimuli in SAD, but fewer studies have examined neural activity during anticipation of feared social stimuli in SAD. The current study examined the time course and magnitude of activity in threat processing brain regions during speech anticipation in socially anxious individuals and healthy controls (HC). Method Participants (SAD n = 58; HC n = 16) underwent functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) during which they completed a 90s control anticipation task and 90s speech anticipation task.

“…A quinine is a sensitizer of the reaction of thiolcontaining drugs with cerium(IV) in sulphuric acid medium [29][30][31]. Quinine is a good fluorescent substance (φ = 0.577), having an emission maximum at about 450 nm [63].…”

“…Cerium (III), which is formed by the reduction of cerium(IV), is a well-known fluorescent ion, with the maximum emission at λ~355 nm [41][42][43] and therefore, it is a possible CL emitter. Excited sulphur dioxide species (SO 2 *) emit weak light at 300-450 nm [44,45], therefore the compounds showing strong fluorescence, such as rhodamine B [28,46], quinine [29][30][31] or lanthanide ions [32] are introduced to many reaction systems containing Ce(IV) ions. However, the CL intensity is very weak due to the low luminescence efficiency of SO 2 * .…”

“…QN, among its other uses, has been employed as a sensitizing agent due to its exceptional quantum fluorescence efficiency in acidic media [9]. QN has been utilized for the development of many chemiluminescence methods [10] with different oxidants such as cerium(IV) [11], diperiodatonickelate(IV) [12], potassium bromate [13], and permanganate [14].…”
