Hierarchically porous holey graphene/PANI/ graphene nanohybrid is fabricated by adopting a facile twostep process in which PANI/graphene hybrid was first synthesized hydrothermally and then wrapped with a layer of holey graphene. The resulted sandwich-like structure cannot only promote electronic transmission and ionic diffusion, but also contribute to a prominent rate capability. A symmetric supercapacitor was assembled with the obtained holey graphene/PANI/graphene nanohybrid, exhibiting a maximum specific capacitance of 437 F•g −1 at 1 A•g −1 , an energy density of 55 Wh•kg −1 at 900 W•kg −1 , an ultrahigh-rate performance (retained 43% capacitance at 100 A•g −1 ), as well as a long-term life (84% retention after 5000 loops at 10 A•g −1 ). The present work may provide an insight for designing highperformance symmetric supercapacitor.

Rectangular-sectioned polypyrrole microtubes (R-PPy) were synthesized in aqueous solution with bcyclodextrin (b-CD)/I 2 inclusion compound and FeCl 3 by chemical oxidation. Field emission scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) were used to characterize the formation and molecular structure of R-PPy. From the results of the characterization, Complexes of b-CD/I 2 -Fe 2+ acted as the soft-template during the synthesis process of rectangular-sectioned polypyrrole microtubes. Some I À ions retained in the backbone of the asprepared PPy served as the counter ions after rinsing. Furthermore, R-PPy demonstrated higher conductivity and better electrochemical properties than PPy particles synthesized by the conventional method (C-PPy). The specific capacitance of R-PPy (322.5 F g À1 at the current of 1 A g À1 ) is almost twice as large as that of C-PPy. The original specific capacitance of R-PPy can be maintained at around 83.3% whereas it was only about 61.5% for the C-PPy after 2000 charge-discharge cycles. The larger specific capacitance and relatively high cycling stability of R-PPy make it a more attractive candidate for energy storage electrodes than C-PPy.

Polyaniline (PANI) molecular composites were synthesized by chemical oxidative polymerization of the aniline and aniline dimer, N-phenyl-1,4-phenylendiamine, in the presence of a macrocycle, calix[8]arene p-octasulfonic acid (C8S), using ammonium peroxidisulfate as oxidant. The macrocycle has acted both as acid dopant and surfactant to obtain processable PANI-ES. The PANI/ calix[8]arene p-octasulfonic acid composite was also obtained by a simple doping of PANI emeraldine base form with calix[8]arene sulfonic acid. The structure of materials was confirmed by Fourier transform infrared, UV-vis and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. All synthesized composite materials are amorphous and soluble in chloroform, dimethylsulfoxide, NMP, showing excellent solution-processing properties combined with electrical conductivity. Cyclic voltammetry evidenced a good electroactivity for the composite films. Dielectric properties (dielectric constant and dielectric losses) were determined and are comparable with those of other PANI/ionic acid polymer composites. Preliminary studies have evidenced a high dielectric constant (10 4 at 100 Hz) and electrical conductivity of 6 Â 10 À3 S/cm for PANI composites. From sulfur elemental analysis of the PANI/calixarene, it results that the content in macrocycle is $30% (weight).
