Chemical investigation of Ocimum species growing in Togo

Abstract: The steam-distilled leaf and¯ower oils of Ocimum basilicum L., Ocimum canum Sims and Ocimum gratissimum L., collected from 14 dierent locations in Togo, have been studied. Capillary gas±liquid chromatography and capillary gas-chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry were used to determine the percentage composition of these essential oils. Exaggerated anticipatory anxiety is common in social anxiety disorder (SAD). Neuroimaging studies have revealed altered neural activity in response to social stimuli in SAD, but fewer studies have examined neural activity during anticipation of feared social stimuli in SAD.
