Charax goeldii Fowler, 1913 a valid species of Galeocharax Fowler (Characiformes: Characidae)

Abstract: Charax goeldiiCharax goeldii Fowler is resurrected from synonymy of Galeocharax gulo and redescribed. Its inclusion in Galeocharax is justified, and comments on the distribution of the species of this genus are made.
