“…Prior to this study, the only available information on agricultural soils in Tibet was that soils near Lhasa comprised sandy or silty loams or clay loams, rich in calcium carbonate and alkaline in reaction (Kaiser et al 2009;Smith et al 1999). The physical and chemical descriptions of the Lhasa soil presented here are broadly consistent with these earlier reports.…”

Exaggerated anticipatory anxiety is common in social anxiety disorder (SAD). Neuroimaging studies have revealed altered neural activity in response to social stimuli in SAD, but fewer studies have examined neural activity during anticipation of feared social stimuli in SAD. The current study examined the time course and magnitude of activity in threat processing brain regions during speech anticipation in socially anxious individuals and healthy controls (HC). Method Participants (SAD n = 58; HC n = 16) underwent functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) during which they completed a 90s control anticipation task and 90s speech anticipation task.

“…This slope is close to the expected relationship for weathering of Na-silicates to kaolinite (Drever, 1997) and similar to the relationship between Si and Na + observed in the lower Tsangpo-Brahmaputra by Singh et al (2005). Although the presence of kaolinite is typically indicative of deep weathering environments and might not be expected to form in the cold continental climate of the southern Tibetan plateau, the clay mineralogy of soils across an elevational gradient from 3700 to >4600 m in the Yarlung Tsangpo valley is dominated by micas, kaolinite, and lesser quantities of vermiculite (Smith et al, 1999). In addition, kaolinite comprises up to 50 wt% of the total clay fraction in some sediments in the distal Bengal fan (Brass and Raman, 1990).…”

“…Haruyutaka was bred in Hokkaido, and is the main cultivar of spring wheat. (Smith et al, 1999), and Fluvent with pH 5.5 and total nitrogen concentration of 0.24% at Sapporo. Sowing dates, sowing rates and fertilizer rates followed the conventional practices in each experimental region ( Nutrition, 1987).…”
