This study is aimed at examining the pattern of residential mobility with particular reference to Calabar metropolis. Residential mobility which is the movement of individuals or house holds between and within residential districts in a city is an inevitable process in any society and has become part of our urban life. The survey research approach was adopted for the study. Four hundred (400) copies of questionnaires were randomly administered in the study area, while three hundred and ninety three (393) were successfully filled and returned. The data obtained were analysed with the use of tables and simple percentages. Two (2) hypotheses were formulated and tested using the appropriate tests statistics. The findings revealed that the metropolitan area of Calabar experienced residential mobility between and within districts as a result of changes in income, availability of social infrastructure, household's preference among others. However, the results of both hypotheses revealed that the variables for measurement were not very significant in the study. This was because their calculated values were greater than the significant level of 0.05. From the foregoing, some neighbourhoods or districts within the metropolis have experienced rapid transformation while others have degenerated from their original status. The study therefore recommends equitable distribution of income and social infrastructure for sustainable residential mobility. This will help to curtail economic and social segregation among residents of Calabar. The provision or restoration of these facilities will encourage residents to stay in their original neighbourhoods and also attract others to move into a neighbourhood.

The population is increasing rapidly globally, and urban expansion of the cities has become an extensive trend in developing nations. Urban expansion patterns, such as transportation structure and road networks, affect transportation planning. This research was conducted on a mega project in Lahore city of Pakistan, i.e., the Lahore Ring Road (LRR) project. Limited research focused on the beneficiary assessment of the road project, and this research was carried out to fill this research gap. This research aims to evaluate the beneficiary assessment of DHA Phase 8 and Halloki Settlement along the Lahore Ring Road. The simple Random Sampling technique was used to conduct the household survey in the study area. This study concluded that most of the residents did not modify their houses nor increase the built-up area and height after the introduction of the project. This study inferred that the rental potential was high at some locations and low at old existing settlements. This research further concluded that community participation was ignored, and public facilities were not improved in the study area. But a project of LRR was very much beneficial and alive for the residents of Lahore city. Community participation should be enhanced in such types of megaprojects, and allied facilities in the nearby community should be upgraded. This research will be helpful for policymakers, urban planners, transportation planners, development authorities, and other stakeholders in planning future road projects in the country.

A regionalization approach seeks to manage and to achieve development goals in line with regional characteristics. The development system of Malang Regency is conducted through regionalization approach that divided the area into six development regions (DR). Considering that each region has diverse characteristics/typology, describing this typology is the key to map the conditions and problems and to formulate alternative solutions. Thus, the main objective of the research is to analyze the development level of Malang Regency based on a typology of development regions. The specific objectives are as follows: (1) Analyzing the economic diversification in the development regions; (2) Analyzing the hierarchy of development regions; and (3) Analyzing the level of accessibility of the development regions. The research methods include entropy diversity index, scalogram, the level of accessibility (road density index and connectivity index) and cluster analyses. The results show that cluster analysis with proportional and comprehensive variables is able to describe the typology of development regions of Malang Regency, which are divided into three clusters, i.e.: (1) DR I Malang City Ring as the only cluster with a has high development level, (2) DR II Kepanjen, DR IV Tumpang, WP V Turen and Dampit have a medium development level (3) DR III Ngantang and DR VI Sumbermanjing Wetan have a low development level.
