“…The primary anthocyanins in boysenberries were cyanidin 3-(6‘- p -coumaryl)glucoside-5-glucoside and cyanidin 3-glucoside (56.27 and 43.73%, respectively), whereas cyanidin 3-(6‘- p -coumaryl)sambubioside and cyanidin 3-(6‘- p -coumaryl)glucoside were the primary anthocyanin forms present in black raspberries (22.0 and 77.0%, respectively). Others have identified cyanidin 3-sophoroside as a major anthocyanin in red raspberries and boysenberries ( − ) and cyanidin 3-rutinoside as a major anthocyanin in black raspberries ( , ); however, we did not find evidence for these specific compounds based on the mass data. 2 Chromatograms of anthocyanins from blackberries, red raspberries, boysenberries, marionberries, and black raspberries using HPLC coupled with UV detection.…”

“…Two of three peaks could be identified with reference standards as cyanidin‐3‐ O ‐sambubioside and cyanidin‐3‐ O ‐glucoside. These results are in accordance with literature data (Hong & Wrolstad, ; Wu et al ., ; Veberic et al ., ). In the case of the third compound, neither of our reference standards matched its retention time; therefore, this compound was subjected to a targeted Q/TOF‐MS experiment in order to identify it.…”

“…Cy 3-rut and Cy 3-xylrut were the major anthocyanins, representing 46 and 39% on average, respectively, of the total anthocyanins in the Jewel cultivar. These results are consistent with previous findings that Cy 3-rut and Cy 3-xylrut were the major anthocyanin constituents in black raspberry , . Cy 3-sam and Cy 3-glc were found in relatively smaller and almost identical amounts.…”
