Characterization of Anodizing Process on Aluminum Series 6 with Variable Voltage

Abstract: Anodizing is one way of coating oxidation on aluminum, which is carried out by anodic oxidation at room temperature with the help of an electric current so that a chemical reaction occurs so that a layer is produced that can protect the metal from the effects of corrosion. The objective of this study was to determine the characterization of variations in electric voltage on surface hardness in the anodizing aluminum series 6. Specimens were made with dimensions of 50 mm × 25 mm with a thickness of 10 mm, then … Show more

“…A minimum porosity and maximum corrosion resistance was achieved by direct pulse voltage [24]. Wisnujati et al characterized that anodizing process on the 6-series aluminum alloy with different voltage change from 20 V to 28 V. According to their study, a maximum Vickers hardness value of coated surface is 59.117 VHN at voltage of 20 V [25]. Park and Jeong studied the effect of anodizing voltage (50 V and 60 V) and time (1 h − 9 h) of 6061 aluminum alloy (0-5 h) on the formation of anodic oxide film.…”
