Characteristics of Earth Electrodes Under High Frequency Conditions: Numerical Modelling

Abstract: The earthing segments of electrical power systems play an important role in ensuring human safety. A core function of these earthing systems is to maintain reliable operation and ensure safety for personnel and apparatus during fault conditions. Earthing electrodes can be buried in the soil to dissipate lightning and fault currents into the earth and limit the effect of any magnitude of voltage and current generated between different contact points to earth structures that may be occupied by people or sensitiv… Show more

“…The system was designed consisting of solar panels, an inverter, a DC motor, an AC motor, a water tank and a water source. The system was assembled and installed in a thoughtful manner. After we design the system, shown in Figure 1 we collect, buy, and put some electrical design components into practice [13]. We've done some experiments on specific pieces, connected the entire circuit, and conducted practical experiments [14].…”

“…We'll use two different sensors in this case: the FSR-408 and also the FSR-406. Such sensors are chosen for their cost effectiveness and ease of use [18]. This power affectability is improved for usage technological control with a human touch gadget, such as car hardware, clinical frameworks, and current and technical technology applications, according to the sheet of specifics [20], [21].…”

“…High magnitude currents of several tens of kA under transient fault conditions such as direct lightning strikes, flow to the earth through grounding systems, leading to large potential gradients: in such a case, grounding systems exhibit a potential rise relative to the reference earth and power systems should thus be secured against overvoltage [79]. The flow of transient currents into earth may also cause an electric shock risk but their acceptable limits are not as well defined as those of power frequency fault currents.…”
