Abstract: Characteristics and origin of the aerosol in the lowermost stratosphere at northern midlatitudes were studied using measurements from a passenger aircraft (Civil Aircraft for Regular Investigation of the Atmosphere Based on an Instrument Container, or CARIBIC).
