Changes in the viability of the eggs of Ascaris suum under the influence of flavourings and source materials approved for use in and on foods

Abstract: One of the most common parasitic diseases of pigs globally is ascariasis. It is caused by the nematode Ascaris suum Goeze, 1782 (Nematoda, Ascaridata), which parasitises the small intestine of pigs in its mature form and the respiratory system at the larval stage. This helminthiasis causes immense damage to swine-rearing. Control of the ascariasis pathogen in the host's organism and in the environment is essential for the health of the animals and successful swinerearing. The results of studying the effect of … Show more

“…were isolated from the environment, which in turn area rather dangerous factor for health of people (Nejsum et al, 2005). Also, to the abovementioned, we should add that eggs of helminths are rather resistant to negative environmental factors, which in turn conditions their constant circulation in the environment (Gaspard et al, 1995;Capizzi-Banas et al, 2004), and change in their resistance properties (Boyko & Brygadyrenko, 2017).…”

“…According to the data of Boyko & Brygadyrenko (2017, Gugosyan et al 2019, assessment of the condition of invasive larvae contamination in spring pastures in some regions of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast has confirmed their unsatisfactory condition with regard to helminthiases of large cattle involving five genera of nematodes: Strongуloides, Bunostomum, Haemonchus, Oesophagostomum, Dictyocaulus. It was proved that larvae of these helminths retain their vital activity in soil over winter.…”

“…The presence of exogenous forms of helminths in environmental objects worsens its veterinary-sanitary condition, and in some cases pose infestation threat to humans. Therefore, it is important to carry out integrated anti-parasitic measures in livestock biocenoses (Eysker & Ploeger, 2000;Charlier et al, 2014;Boyko & Brygadyrenko, 2017).…”

“…), and also in construction, in goods for medicine (parts for blood transfusion system, Petri dishes, additional disposable instruments). In pure state these polymers are inert and non-toxic, but in the process of their production, harmful stabilizers, salts of heavy metals and other technical additives are used, which negatively affect the human organism of after being introduced to it (Halden, 2010;Lamontagne, 2012;Norh & Halden, 2013;Boyko & Brygadyrenko, 2017;Lieshchova et al, 2018). Apart from the problem of safety in the process of production, many chemical additives which provide needed properties for the produced goods also negatively affect the ecological situation and human health (Anon, 2007;Koch & Calafat, 2009).…”
