Abstract: Lowering of plasma triglyceride levels by hypolipidemic agents is caused by a shift in the liver cellular metabolism, which become poised toward peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor (PPAR) ␣-regulated fatty acid catabolism in mitochondria.
