Abstract: Purpose The radiofrequency electromagnetic radiation (RF-EMR) produced by cell phones can enhance the excitability of the brain and has recently been classified as carcinogenic. The suggested use of hands-free kits lowers the exposure to the brain, but it might theoretically increase exposure to the reproductive organs. This report summarizes the potential effects of RF-EMR on reproductive potentials in both males and females. Methods A critical review of the literature pertaining to the impact of cell phone R… Show more

“…17,33 Our results did not support a relationship between exposure to EMFs and adverse reproductive outcomes in these Chinese female workers. This was possibly because our study was a cross-sectional study, and the working durations of our workers were relative short (the mean durations were 3.6 years for low-exposure group and 2.9 years for high-exposure groups).…”

“…Although there have been some studies on this issue in the last few decades, [14][15][16] the number of investigations was relatively small, and the paucity of data limit drawing a valid scientific conclusion. 17,18 To better understand the potential adverse health effects of EMFs exposure, World Health Organization (WHO) recommends that more research should be carried out on occupational groups who highly exposed to EMFs. 1 It is well known that radiofrequency radiation is high near plastic welding machines.…”

“…Research by La Vignera et al [26] has confirmed that Rf-EMF causes a decline in sperm count and motility through formation of ROS. However, there are conflicting reports regarding the reproductive toxicity of radiofrequency radiation and scientists [27,28] have stressed the need for well-designed, structured studies in this direction.…”
