Challenges and Design Goals of Wireless Sensor Networks: A Sate-of-the-art Review

Abstract: Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) have power of distributed communication, computing, sensing features. They are characterized as infrastructure less, fault tolerant and selforganizing networks which provide opportunities for low-cost, easy-to-apply, rapid and flexible installations in unattended and harsh environments in various prospective applications. In future, their wide range of applications will make them an integral part in Internet of Things (IoT) and hence in real life. However, implementation of sens… Show more

“…Table 1 shows the difference between this survey article and existing studies in the area of WSNs for data management. Each WSNs type along with related applications is explained in detail [23,24,32]. The WSN types and architecture are presented in [21,31], data aggregation and non-data aggregation are outlined in [22], and WSNs' applications are explained with the increase in network lifetime in [4,10].…”

“…Similarly, in 32 is studied the impact of UAVs in military environments and how interoperability can further develop the benefits in its use. In 33 the authors surveyed the structure, characteristics of a wireless sensor network, and its prospective applications along with its implementation challenges as well as design goals. In, 34 this paper describes a seamless docking with UAVs.…”
