Abstract: Cerebrospinal meningitis is an infectious disease of the pia mater and arachnoid membranes of the brain and spinal cord. The confused basis of the classification of diseases, which is a legacy from former times, has led to considerable obscurity in the nomenclature used in describing these infections. Exaggerated anticipatory anxiety is common in social anxiety disorder (SAD). Neuroimaging studies have revealed altered neural activity in response to social stimuli in SAD, but fewer studies have examined neural activity during anticipation of feared social stimuli in SAD.
