Abstract: Silica coatings were fabricated on stainless steel substrates by electrophoretic deposition (EPD) of aqueous slurries. An cationic surfactant, polyethylenimine (PEI) was used for obtaining positively charged silica particles and coatings on the cathode in order to prevent the anode elution.
