Recurrent Blue Nevus of the Corneoscleral Limbus

If the phenomenon of malignant transformation were to occur in a blue nevus, it would have to pass through a cellular blue nevus stage, in which a high degree of proliferation is reflected in the emergence of fascicles composed of nonpigmented spindle cells with schwannian features admixed with a more conventional dispersed population of pigmented blue nevus cells, 6,11,15 all of which are S-100, MART-1, and HMB-45 positive. 5 Thereafter, a clone of malignant cells may supervene.…”
