Cd(II)-based metal–organic framework-derived CdS photocatalysts for enhancement of photocatalytic activity

“…Further, the peak at 17.5° for NiCo MOF_BDC and NiCo MOF_BTC matches with the (220) crystal plane of Ni 3 (BTC) 2 ·12H 2 O (PDF #1274034), confirming the presence of benzene-carboxylic acid coordinations. The peak at 37.08° for NiCo MOF_2-Melm is from the 2-methylimizazole. , From the above discussion, the XRD patterns evidenced the formation of the NiCo MOF successfully with the different organic ligands. The TGA curve for all the NiCo MOF samples illustrated in Figure f shows a three-stage mass loss profile, first, the mass loss due to the evaporation of volatile components like H 2 O and functional groups, subsequently, the polymer component decomposition, and last, the combustion of material. ,, The volatile component evaporation starts immediately in the case of NiCo MOF_BTC ∼11.8%, i.e., more than the other MOFs, confirming the presence of highly volatile components physisorbed/chemisorbed to the highly open edges of the interconnected networked structure of NiCo MOF_BTC.…”
