Abstract: A comparison was made of the postoperative results after cataract extraction with knife incision ab interno and stepped incision ab externo. The complications related to wound healing were fewer when stepped incision was used. There was no statistically significant difference between the groups in the degree of postoperative astigmatism. Stepped incision ab extcrno seems to be preferable to knife incision ab interno in cataract surgery.
