Abstract: A 67-year-old hypertensive woman with persistent atrial fibrillation was receiving anticoagulation therapy. She underwent surgical repair of ascending aortic aneurysm (AAA) and went into shock and cardiac arrest with pulseless electrical activity two months after surgery.At 66, the patient had developed progressive dyspnea, initially on severe and then on minimal exertion for four months; she also had paroxysmal palpitations.
