Abstract:Protein-losing gastroenteropathy is a rare syndrome of protein loss from the gastrointestinal system. It manifests with hypoproteinemic edema, which may be due to either lymphatic leakage due to increased interstitial pressure or leakage of protein-rich fluids due to intestinal disorders.
