“…Since, quinoline induces tumor development in the early period of administration, the carcinogenic mode of action of quinoline is thought to be genotoxic. In addition to oral administration, quinoline is also carcinogenic when administered by intraperitoneal injection to new born CD-1 mice (LaVoie et al, 1987(LaVoie et al, , 1988Weyand et al, 1993) and when administered by skin painting (LaVoie et al, 1984), indicating that quinoline is carcinogenic without metabolic activation in the liver. Several substituted quinolines have also been examined for carcinogenic potential in rats and mice.…”
