“…Cui et al found that nitrogendoped CDs (NCDs) prepared with antibiotic aminosalicylic acid (ASA) or p-phenylenediamine (p-PD), or o-phenylenediamine (o-PD) could effectively suppress corrosion of Q235 carbon steel in 1 M HCl solution, exhibiting a high inhibition efficiency up to 90%. 12,13 Subsequently, it was found that these NCDs could also provide excellent protection for Cu at a temperature of 298-318 K in 0.5 M H 2 SO 4 solution. 14 Besides, Ye et al prepared various types of NCDs with different source materials and investigated their corrosion inhibition performance.…”

“…In particular, as newcomers, carbons dots have been involved in some anticorrosive studies. In a previous study, we found that nitrogen-doped carbon dots (NCDs) prepared through a hydrothermal process of 4-aminosalicylic acid could effectively retard the acid corrosion of carbon steel at room temperature, and the inhibition efficiency was up to 91% in the presence of 10 ppm NCDs [18]. Afterwards, NCDs prepared with single source material (e.g., ammonium citrate, p-phenylenediamine and o-phenylenediamine) [19,20] or two kinds of source materials (citrate acid-ethanol amine, methacrylic acid-n-butylamine, citric acid-imidazole, citric acid-L-histidine) [21][22][23][24] were gradually reported, and they also exhibited good corrosion inhibition for metals exposed to acid solutions.…”

“…[ 3,4 ] Simultaneously, they can also be used as good fluorescent labeling and imaging material, and they have extensive development and application space in the fields of drug delivery transportation, cell development, biochemical sensing, and photocatalysis. [ 5–8 ] At present, CDs are a promising drug carrier and biosensor material, which have become a research hot spot in recent years. [ 9–11 ] In terms of a carrier, they have many oxygen‐containing groups, hydrophilicity, and large specific surface area, which can carry a large number of drugs and achieve faster drug release.…”
