The study carried out by Deng, Ryan and Mountinho [60] concludes that, in the case of Canadian hoteliers, hotels tend to concur with environmental protection policies, generally irrespective of profitability.…”

Stakeholder salience and environmental stewardship among hotels in Malaysia

“…The environmental attitude of managers was determined using six items (coded ATT1 to ATT6) that were adapted from Deng and Ryan (1992). The items include: attitudes towards preserving cultural heritage; architectural styles and local landscapes; control over buildings; concern over overpopulation; environmental protection policies; and the effects of environmental policies. …”

“…The questionnaire administered to the hotel managers included background questions related to the manager and hotel and questions dealing with stakeholder influence, the manager's environmental awareness and attitudes and the hotel's EMPs. The questionnaire was constructed based on previous literature on EMPs (Aragon-Correa, 1998;Deng and Ryan, 1992; Stakeholder salience Gadenne et al, 2009;Molina-Azorín et al, 2009). Two industry experts and two senior academics were asked to review the questionnaire to establish face and content validity.…”
