A B S T R A C TWater is limiting for growth and essential for photosynthesis. Crop yield depends on the available amount of this resource and on the efficiency of its use by the plant. This study aimed to evaluate the vegetative growth and the gross yield of sugar and ethanol from sugarcane along cane-plant and ratoon cane cultivation, under different irrigation depths for water replenishment, with and without nitrogen (N) application by subsurface drip irrigation. The experimental design was randomized blocks, analyzed in a split-plot scheme, with four replicates, in which the plots were represented by the interaction: irrigation depths (0, 25, 50, 75 and 100% water replenishment of the field capacity), with and without N fertigation, and subplots were represented by 9 evaluation periods (90, 120, 150, 180, 210, 240, 270, 300 and 330 days after planting/days after the first cutting for ratoon cane). The gross yields of sugar and alcohol for water replenishments below 93 and 97%, respectively, are higher in sugarcane of first year than in sugarcane of second year. Fertigation provided greater vegetative growth of ratoon cane.Rendimento da cana-de-açúcar submetida a adubação nitrogenada e a lâminas de irrigação por gotejamento subsuperficial R E S U M OA água é limitante para o crescimento e fundamental para a fotossíntese; a produtividade das plantas depende da quantidade disponível deste recurso e da eficiência de seu uso pelo vegetal. Com esse estudo objetivou-se avaliar o crescimento vegetativo e o rendimento bruto de açúcar e álcool da cana-de-açúcar ao longo do cultivo da cana-planta e cana-soca, em diferentes lâminas de reposição hídrica, com e sem aplicação de nitrogênio pelo sistema de irrigação por gotejamento subsuperficial. O delineamento experimental utilizado foi o de blocos ao acaso analisado em esquema de parcelas subdivididas, com quatro repetições, sendo a parcela representada pela interação das lâminas de irrigação (0, 25, 50, 75 e 100% de reposição hídrica, da capacidade de campo) com e sem fertirrigação nitrogenada e as subparcelas por nove épocas de avaliações (90, 120, 150, 180, 210, 240, 270, 300 e 330 dias depois do plantio/dias após o primeiro corte para a cana-soca). Os rendimentos brutos de açúcar e álcool para as reposições hídricas inferiores a 93 e 97% são, respectivamente, maiores em cana-planta que em cana-soca. A fertirrigação proporcionou maior crescimento vegetativo da cana-soca.

“…A aplicação da vinhaça através da fertirrigação é bastante difundida nas regiões canavieiras com resultados satisfatórios em relação às alterações químicas no solo, como o aumento de matéria orgânica, pH e teores de nutrientes totais (BEBÉ et al 2009 (TASSO JÚNIOR et al 2007, SINGH et al 2007, BARBOSA et al 2013), Brix (TASSO JÚNIOR et al 2007, SINGH et al 2007, BARBOSA et al 2012, BARBOSA et al 2013, fibra (OLIVEIRA et al 2009 ) e com cinco repetições, totalizando 20 unidades experimentais. Cada unidade experimental apresentava área de 24 m 2 (6 m x 4 m), em canavial de soca de segundo ano e terceiro corte, variedade RB 855453 de ciclo precoce, com espaçamento entre linhas de 1,5 m. RESUMOUm dos principais subprodutos da indústria sucroalcooleira é a vinhaça a qual é rica em nutrientes, especialmente potássio. Objetivou-se com esse trabalho avaliar a qualidade tecnológica e produtividade da cana-de-açúcar, após aplicação de doses de vinhaça em cana de terceiro corte. O estudo foi realizado em um Latossolo Vermelho distroférrico, franco argilo arenoso, na usina monte verde -BUNGE, no município de Ponta Porã, MS. Foi utilizado delineamento de blocos casualizados sendo avaliadas quatro doses de vinhaça (0; 450; 600 e 750 m 3 ha -1) com cinco repetições. Foi utilizada a variedade de cana-de-açúcar RB 855453 de ciclo precoce, com espaçamento entre linhas de 1,5 m. O plantio da cana ocorreu no ano de 2008, utilizando preparo convencional do solo. O POL% aumentou 3,38%, para o °BRIX% houve incremento de 5,03%, o AR% aumentou 22%, para a variável FIBRA% houve incremento de 6,7% e o ATR% aumentou 4,94%, com as doses de vinhaça. Para produtividade houve incremento de 4 Mg da menor para maior dose de vinhaça. A aplicação de doses de vinhaça melhorou a qualidade tecnológica, exceto pureza para a indústria. As doses da vinhaça aumentaram a produtividade da cana-de-açúcar. PALAVRAS-CHAVE:qualidade tecnológica, Saccharum spp., resíduo, produtividade. ABSTRACTOne of the main by-products of the sugar and alcohol industry is the vinasse which is rich in nutrients, especially potassium. The planting of cane occurred in 2008, using conventional tillage. The POL% increased 3.38%, for the °BRIX%, there was an increase of 5.03%, the AR% increased 22%, for the variable FIBER%, there was a 6.7% e the ATR% increased 4.94%, with vinasse doses. For productivity, there was an increase of 4 Mg from the lowest to the highest dose of vinasse. The application of vinasse doses improved the quality of the raw material, except for industry purity. The vinasse doses increased the productivity of sugarcane.

Some sugarcane varieties have high activity of polyphenoloxidase enzyme, impairing the production of lower color sugar. Polyphenoloxidase (PPO) is an enzyme from the oxidoreductases group and it is present in a greater or lesser amount depending on the sugarcane variety, climatic conditions, age, culture treatment, harvest and processing conditions. The presence of this enzyme has great impact in the food industry, as it is the main enzyme involved in the undesirable darkening of fruits and vegetables during processing and storage. It is of great importance for the food industry to study inactivation methods for this enzyme. The aim of this work was to evaluate the effect of ozone gas associated (replacement of the conventional sulphitation process), whose concentrations were 150, 300 and 450 mg/L, at the inactivation temperature of polyphenoloxidase enzyme of sugarcane variety RB 92579 for the production of lower color sugar. Treatment with ozone concentration of 150 mg·L-1 at 105 °C showed direct correlation between juice color reduction and enzyme inactivation, resulting in the production of lower color sugar.
