“…Calcium oxalate crystals are not encountered in normal tissues, except in the human thyroid, where they were found in 79 of 100 routine consecutive autopsies. l 2 Only two reports 2,13 referred to calcium oxalate crystals in a cytologic specimen other than urine; the crystals in these cases were in respiratory and pleural fluid from a patient with aspergillosis l 3 and in an infected nasolabial cyst.…”
