“…It is proven that SCA clones have alleles/genes of WB resistance (Kuhn et al 2003, Faleiro et al 2006, and although under certain circumstances the resistance of progenies of these SCA clones was overrun in the field, (Pires et al, 2012a, Benjamin et al 2016 and M. perniciosa strains capable of infecting them have already been selected (Patrocinio et al 2012), other progenies maintained resistance when the second parent was also resistant (Benjamin et al 2016, Pires et al 2012b. It is noteworthy that the resistance behavior of SCA 6 progenies used for artificial inoculations in the greenhouse is stable (Albuquerque et al 2010, Benjamin et al 2014, which was also evidenced in this study, in spite of the variation in the pathogen inoculum used.As the brooms are collected in the field experimental areas of CEPEC, and renewed every six months in the broomchamber for the production of basidiomes and storage of basidiospores used in inoculations, the possible evolution of the pathogen is therefore, theoretically, accompanied.…”
