Abstract: Background: VEGF is a prime driver of endothelial cell survival, proliferation and migration in the tumor vasculature. In addition, preclinical evidence points to a role of FGF and PDGF in tumour angiogenesis, mediated by endothelial and smooth muscle cells and pericytes.
