Verucciform xanthoma is an unusual lesion characterized by verrucous epithelial proliferation accompanied by a prominent replacement of the dermal papillae with foamy histiocytes. We describe a case of verruciform xanthoma on the glans penis. The most striking histopathological finding was the presence of numerous acantholytic cells in the upper layers of the epithelium. We discuss the differential diagnosis with other acantholytic disorders of the genital area and conclude that our findings can be interpreted as an additional example of incidental acantholysis.

Among the atypical variants of Fatnilial betiign chrotiic pemphigus (FBCP) is the genital verrucoid variety. This condition is often misdiagnosed as condyloma accuminata. We present a case of a genital verrucoid variant of Hailey-Hailey disease that was initially mistaken for condyloma accuminata. Multiple asymptomatic white bands in more than one fingernail were the first due in diagnosing the condition, which was confirmed histopathologically. This nail marker may antedate any other cutaneous manifestation of FBCP. Nail examination for longitudinal leukonychia of fingernails might be of help in diagnosing atypical cases of Hailey-Hailey disease. ' Corresponding author. Tel. 966-1-477-4480/966-1-465-9«96.
