Abstract: We observed the clinical aspects and cytogenetic findings of Burkitt lymphoma in three American children. The clinical manifestations vary widely, which makes early diagnosis difficult but important.

“…Thus endemic BL is invariably associated with high titers of antibody against EBV while the antibody response in non-endemic BL is more varying, and often absent. 6 Also, while EBV-DNA is found in all African BL tumors it is detectable only in 8-17% of non-endemic American BL cases.…”

Exaggerated anticipatory anxiety is common in social anxiety disorder (SAD). Neuroimaging studies have revealed altered neural activity in response to social stimuli in SAD, but fewer studies have examined neural activity during anticipation of feared social stimuli in SAD. The current study examined the time course and magnitude of activity in threat processing brain regions during speech anticipation in socially anxious individuals and healthy controls (HC). Method Participants (SAD n = 58; HC n = 16) underwent functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) during which they completed a 90s control anticipation task and 90s speech anticipation task.

“…Outside Africa, Burkitt type ALL has been reported to represent 2 % of all ALL . In African (Manolov and Manolova, 1972) and non-African (Hubner and Littlefield, 1975;Philip et al, 1977) Burkitt ML, structural chromosomal abnormalities were found. The existence of ML in which a variable proportion of the neoplastic cells show mature or immature plasmacytic or plasmacytoid features is fully recognised.…”
