Sin embargo, los vertebrados o invertebrados que las consumen, entre ellas algunas aves, logran aprovecharse de una fuente importante de alimento (Burgess, 1991;Palacios-Mosquera et al, 2019;Gonsioroski et al, 2021). De las flores de T. procumbens se han extraído saponinas esteroidales (Saxena & Albert, 2005) que han demostrado afectar, tanto positiva (e.g., pueden actuar como inmunoestimulantes) como negativamente (e.g., retrasan el crecimiento) a los animales que las ingieren (Ishaaya et al, 1969;Francis et al, 2002).…”
