Biosorption Parameter Estimation with Genetic Algorithm

Abstract: Abstract:In biosorption research, a fairly broad range of mathematical models are used to correlate discrete data points obtained from batch equilibrium, batch kinetic or fixed bed breakthrough experiments. Most of these models are inherently nonlinear in their parameters. Some of the models have enjoyed widespread use, largely because they can be linearized to allow the estimation of parameters by least-squares linear regression. Selecting a model for data correlation appears to be dictated by the ease with w… Show more

“…The Temkin constant K τ (Table 13) which is the maximum binding energy of arsenic (III) to Bacillus subtilis ATCC13952 [61] [62] [63] was estimated to be 2982.29 L/g. The large binding energy implies that Bacillus subtilis ATCC13952 have substantial affinity for the arsenic (III).…”

“…Great effort has been spent in developing a reasonable model that can accomplish the numerical simulation of the dynamics of the adsorption process accurately. , Gutiérrez Ortiz and Aguilera compare two modeling approaches to the dynamic behavior of a fixed bed for biogas desulfurization and investigate the importance of axial dispersion. , Many works are focused on modeling adsorption on the common adsorbent such as activated carbon. Very few investigations about modeling of alkali metal sorbent adsorption have been performed. As a result, in the work presented here, the equilibrium model is established for adsorption of CO 2 on the K 2 CO 3 /MgO/Al 2 O 3 sorbent with different adsorption models, such as those of Freundlich and Langmuir.…”
