“…[34678111213] They broadly fall into five categories: (a) Preauricular flap reconstruction; (b) postauricular flap reconstruction; (c) superimposition of two opposing or paired flaps; and (d) tissue expansion using a tubed flap; (e) a combination of techniques. [4] Some of the drawbacks of these described methods include; burden on the patient from a two-stage procedure, an unnatural contour of the lobule, firmness due to placement of cartilage and flaps from the neck may bring abnormally hairy skin to the ear lobule.…”

“…10 A mutilobar combined flap could be an alternative method for single-stage coverage of defects in this particular circumstance. Since clinic application of the dorsalis pedis arterybased mutilobar combined flap was reported in 1995, 11,12 other combined flaps from areas of scapular, 1,13 postauricular, 14 abdominal, 15 groin, 16 and lateral circumflex femoral 2 have also been introduced for reconstructive surgery. Zhang first reported PTA flap transfer in 1984.…”

“…In the past, various earlobe-reconstruction methods have been reported. [1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9] To generate a reasonable facsimile of the original earlobe, surgeons must choose carefully between these surgical options on the basis of the particularities of the defect.…”
