Le Suivi Continu des Résultats de la thérapie (SCR ou en anglais Routine Outcome Monitoring -ROM) est une méthodologie développée pour faire face à ces problématiques et qui opérationnalise la perspective des recherches centrées sur le patient et des preuves basées sur la pratique ; en utilisant le feedback des patients pour mieux adapter la thérapie, limiter les mauvais résultats, les abandons et au final améliorer l'efficacité clinique.Les recherches suggèrent que le SCR serait efficace pour améliorer les résultats des patients ne s'améliorant initialement pas au cours de leur traitement, ou qui étaient identifiés comme à risque de se détériorer. Plusieurs études documentent également que le SCR réduit les abandons des soins, les coûts liés au traitement ainsi que les dépenses de santé de manière plus générale.Cependant, il est nécessaire d'analyser les effets du feedback selon les contextes d'utilisation (systèmes, consultation externe ou interne, latitude d'utilisation du feedback sur la structure).La notion de coût efficacité apparaît en ce sens primordiale dans la décision d'implémentation d'un système de gestion des résultats.Dans cette optique, nous présentons le système PCOMS qui répond à la fois aux exigences de validation empirique et aux contraintes pratiques des psychothérapeutes. Une synthèse de l'information disponible rapporte que l'utilisation de PCOMS est notamment associée à une amélioration de l'efficacité clinique avec les patients reçus en consultation externe. Mots clés : Psychothérapie, feedback, ROM, efficacité, abandon TITRE COURANT : LE SUIVI CONTINU DES RESULTATS Introduction La notion d'efficacité générale de la psychothérapie, la démonstration de la supériorité de la prise en charge face à l'absence de traitement, pour un large panel de problématiques psychologiques, fait maintenant l'objet d'un consensus (Lambert et Ogles, 2004). Ceci n'exclut pas que les patients puissent répondre en proportions variables aux traitements ou qu'ils soient à risque de se détériorer, voire d'abandonner les soins (Crawford et al., 2016 ; Swift & Greenberg., 2012). Pour répondre à ces enjeux, deux paradigmes ont émergé en marge du mouvement vers les traitements empiriquement validés (Empirically Supported Treatment ou EST). En effet, dans l'approche EST, l'objectif est de valider dans des conditions expérimentales rigoureuses, un traitement censé être thérapeutique ; puis de le disséminer dans la pratique clinique courante, en assurant la fidélité au protocole par l'utilisation d'un manuel.
