“…Trivialization of workplace violence was shown to be influenced by the nature of the job and by individual factors such as past experience or exposure to violent behaviors. This is consistent with findings related to the subjective nature of perceptions of violence (Abderhalden, Needham, Friedli, Poelmans, & Dassen, 2002; Ferns, 2006; Isaksson et al, 2008; Snowdon, Miller, & Vaughan, 1996). However, it is essential to consider organizational characteristics.…”

Exaggerated anticipatory anxiety is common in social anxiety disorder (SAD). Neuroimaging studies have revealed altered neural activity in response to social stimuli in SAD, but fewer studies have examined neural activity during anticipation of feared social stimuli in SAD. The current study examined the time course and magnitude of activity in threat processing brain regions during speech anticipation in socially anxious individuals and healthy controls (HC). Method Participants (SAD n = 58; HC n = 16) underwent functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) during which they completed a 90s control anticipation task and 90s speech anticipation task.

“…The demographic differences between the two samples for Alzheimer's disease and vascular dementia may simply reflect the population demographic differences between the two countries. The negative correlation between the MMSE score and the total BEHAVE-AD score and most of the subscale scores for both Alzheimer's disease and vascular dementia in both countries is consistent with previous reports of some of the BPSD being associated with the severity of dementia or cognitive impairment in Western countries (Burns et al, 1990;Shah, 1999;Snowdon et al, 1996) and in Hong Kong (Choy et al, 2001;Lam et al, 2001), Taiwan (Fuh et al, 2001) and Japan (Schreiner, 2001).…”

The positive correlation between the Cornell Scale score and the BEHAVE-AD subscales of activity disturbance, affective disturbance, diurnal rhythm disturbance and anxiety and phobias may be explained by the obvious overlap of depressive symptoms on the Cornell Scale and the symptoms on these BEHAVE-AD subscales.…”
