Abstract: We calculate baryon masses in a SU(3) hidden gauge model which includes symmetry-breaking terms both for the pseudoscalar mesons and for the vector mesons. The splittings of the baryon masses within the baryon octet and decuplet are obtained for various choices of the anomalous part of the Lagrangian. The contributions to the mass splittings from the vector mesons, proportional to the hypercharge, are too small.
