“…Herein, we present a brief overview on the recent progress of g-C 3 N 4 -based photocatalysts. Many methods, such as doping [6][7][8], the introduction of nitrogen deficient [9,10], forming composite with graphene [11][12][13][14], metal [15][16][17], metal oxide [18][19][20][21][22][23] and others [24][25][26][27], can effectively improve the dissociation efficiency of water. The g-C 3 N 4 nanosheets not only can enhance the photoabsorption but can provide high specific surface areas [28][29][30][31].…”

“…Brunauer-Emmett-Teller specific surface area (SSA BET ) was investigated by Autosorp 1 MP, Quantachrome analyzer with N 2 adsorption isotherm. Details on the microstructures of Ag 3 VO 4 , CoTiO 3 and 50% CoTiO 3 /Ag 3 VO 4 composite from scanning electron microscopy (SEM, JEOL JSM-6335F) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM, FEI TECNAI G2 F20) studies were reported in our previous studies [17,18]. Photocatalytic activity of the samples was evaluated via the MB degradation under visible light irradiation (k > 400 nm) by using a 50 W Halogen lamp as a light source (Phillips, an intensity of $640 W/m 2 ).…”

“…Compared with that of pure Ag 3 VO 4 , the scavenging effect in the composite system is more pronounced, implying that the formation rates of the active species are higher than those in the Ag 3 VO 4 system. This may be ascribed to a high generation of active species as a result of an improved visible light absorption and an efficient e À -h + separation upon the heterojunction formation between CoTiO 3 and Ag 3 VO 4 [17,18]. The strongest inhibition effect of Na 2 EDTA on the photodegradation activity suggests that h + is the predominant active species and the degradation of MB in the CoTiO 3 /Ag 3 VO 4 system is mainly governed by direct hole oxidation, which is consistent with literatures [1,12,14,15].…”
