“…Antibodies to CRISP 1 are reported to interfere with sperm-oocyte fusion, thereby inhibiting fertility (Perez et al, 1995;Ellerman et al, 1998;Cohen et al, 2001). CRISP 2, TPX-1, is expressed in the testes and is not found on the sperm surface (Kasahara et al, 1989;Foster and Gerton, 1996;Keah et al, 2001;O'Bryan et al, 2001). Our data suggest that MAK248 is a CRISP protein and a member of the CAP super family.…”

“…During the progression of cervical cancer, from normal cervical tissues to CIN 1, 2 and 3, the gradually down‐regulated genes we confirmed were CRISP3, CRISP2, PPP1R3C, and DSG1. CRISP2 (gene ID: 7180) also belonging to the CRISP family, is strongly expressed in male reproductive tissues, including the testis, prostate and epididymis, 31 mediating the adhesion between cells and cells, and participate in the fertilization process together with CRISP1, 32 and spermatogenesis, modulation of flagellar motility, acrosome reaction and gamete fusion 33 . Those results suggested that the decrease in CRISP2 expression may lead to decreased sperm motility.…”
