Abstract: NICE guidelines on the management of coeliac disease (2015) recommend assessment of bone mineral density (BMD) at annual review using the WHO fracture risk assessment tool before consideration of the need for a dualenergy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) scan [3,4].
